The Matagorda County Fair’s Annual Year will kick off with the Royalty Pageants. The Livestock Show and PRCA Rodeo will also have a carnival that will be open to the public.

- The rodeo was organized in 1944. The purpose of this association shall be: "To conduct an annual fair and livestock show for Matagorda County. To develop and emphasize the importance of all phases of agriculture and education to the youth of Matagorda County. Offer scholarships to high school graduating county seniors."
