History
Gilbert Promotional Corporation (GPC) – was founded in 1978 by a group of Gilbert businessmen and ranchers to promote family values, keep the spirit of western heritage alive in the hearts and minds of our community, and to promote the Town of Gilbert.
The GPC had leased and maintained the Gilbert Rodeo Park from the town of Gilbert since 1983. Recently in February of 2011, the lease was not renewed. The GPC was forced to remove all assets and leave our beloved Gilbert Rodeo Park. Prior to our move, we were the only public equestrian venue in Gilbert. We hosted many fine events and organizations including the Gilbert Days Rodeo, National Barrel Horse Association (NBHA), American Junior Rodeo Association (AJRA), Queen Creek Junior Rodeo Association (QCJRA), Arizona High School Rodeo Association (AHSRA) Wrangler Junior Rodeo (WJR), Queen Creek 4H and many others. As well as providing a place where local equestrians could ride. We have built strong relationships with these wonderful groups and individuals. We look forward to serving them in the future with a facility that the new Town of Gilbert Master Plan will hopefully include.
In past years, the Gilbert Promotional Corporation hast hosted some of Gilbert’s signature events including the Gilbert Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration; Gilbert Days Parade, Gilbert Days Team roping, Gilbert Days Pony Express, Gilbert Days Barrel Racing, Gilbert Days Rodeo and Gilbert Days Lil’ Dudes Rodeo.
Gilbert Days helped the Town of Gilbert become the 36th Best Place to live in the nation. According to CNN’s Money Magazine’s list of America’s best small cities, “This safe city a half-hour outside Phoenix celebrates the anniversary of the paving of Gilbert Road each year during Gilbert Days, a three-day event that includes a rodeo, a parade and a carnival.”
We are very proud of our Gilbert Days Royalty Court. They spend countless hours promoting the Town of Gilbert and our Gilbert Days Events – locally and statewide – by attending rodeos, fundraisers, community service projects, and in printed articles in many publications.
Additional Info
Our major goals and objectives continue to encompass promoting the wonderful Town of Gilbert and its western heritage. One focal point for us is to become an integral part of Gilbert’s Master Plan process to promote and provide for the needs of our fellow equestrians in our community.
