Main events start at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and the BBQ starts at 6:00 p.m. and runs until 9:30 p.m. Pre-Rodeo entertainment appears on the entertainment stage from 6:00 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. Located at the Brent Romick Arena on Howelsen Pkwy.
Join us at 6 pm for live music! The rodeo has a variety of local artists perform every Friday and Saturday night before the rodeo. There is plenty of seating around the stage and the food and drinks are just a short distance away, making it easy to enjoy both!
History
The rodeo was a part of Steamboat Springs’ culture even before the town was incorporated over 100 years ago, and it’s a tradition that is alive and well today.
No one knows for sure when Steamboat Springs hosted its first organized rodeo competition, but mentions of competitive rodeo events in the local newspaper, the Steamboat Pilot, date back to at least 1898. Looking through historical files, it seems that no local event was complete without some type of rodeo competition.
Additional Info
Pre-sale tickets are also available to purchase downtown at FM Light & Sons, on the mountain at Gondola General and at The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association.
