Join us in Elk Grove for fun, food & music while we crown the sixth Grand Champion of the Elk Grove BBQ Championship!
Over 40 of the best Professional BBQ Pitmasters and their teams are expected to return to Elk Grove Regional Park to see who can smoke the best Chicken, Pork Ribs, Beef Brisket and Pork Shoulder in the race to become the 2019 Kansas City BBQ Society “Competition BBQ Team of the Year”.
The 6th Annual Elk Grove BBQ Championship continues it’s National designation as a fully sanctioned Kansas City BBQ Society (KCBS) Competition which will earn the Grand Champion points to become the KCBS National Team of the Year. This competition is also designated as a Team of the Year event by the California BBQ Association (CBBQA) thus earning the winner points towards California Team of the Year. The Elk Grove Professional & Backyard BBQ Championship is being held in conjunction with the Elk Grove Western Festival, which marks 2019 as the 62nd year for their celebration. Teams will set up on Friday afternoon, start cooking that evening and submit their meats for judging as required by the event schedule.

- The Elk Grove Western Festival is a three-day event that starts on Friday afternoon with live music and carnival rides for all ages; continues Saturday morning with a parade through old town Elk Grove consisting of floats, bands, color guards, drill teams, classic and historic vehicles and equestrian units; and finishes Sunday with a classic car show and a community BBQ competition. The Elk Grove Western Festival has become a major event for the region with visitors coming from Sacramento, Stockton, Roseville, Folsom, and surrounding towns.
