101 Wild West Rodeo

We want to extend a huge congratulations to our announcer for the 60th annual 101 Wild West Rodeo Garrett Yerigan for being chosen to work the 2019 RFD-TV’s The American! The American will be held March 2-3, 2019 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX; making it the richest weekend in rodeo with over $2 million dollars up for grabs.

We only bring the best to Ponca City! Congratulations Garrett!

Garrett’s two part message to all of you:

Part 1 is to let you all know how extremely honored and humbled I am to have been selected to work this year’s RFD-TV’s The American inside the Cowtown Coliseum AND AT&T Stadium! I still haven’t been able to come up with the words to describe this incredible feeling but I can’t help but thank my lord, my family, and my friends who have always helped me and pushed me to constantly study my craft and try to be better every day. Thank you RFD-TV for this incredible opportunity for this “kid” from Oklahoma.

Part 2 is this: to all the young announcers getting started in this game, do not weaken! There will be rough patches or weeks when the phone doesn’t ring. Wait. Patience is key in this profession and good things come to those who wait. The moment you start to rush the process is when you deviate from God’s plan. I can remember my early days of announcing nothing but slack and youth rodeos and jackpot barrel races that got me to where I am today. They are just as important to my success as the professionally sanctioned events I do today because they helped me develop valuable traits in my announcing. Mic time is mic time and will allow you to better yourself every time.

Announcing the American is an amazing chance to show how far I’ve grown from those days and your same chance will come one day. It may not be tomorrow or next week, but it will come
