The original purpose set forth in this charter reads: “For scientific and educational encouragement of Agriculture, Horticulture, Livestock, Poultry, and Farm Products by maintenance of public fairs and expositions and promote generally the welfare of the same in the state and nation.” We continue this charter with programs held during our fair as well as with the Agricultural Learning Center which educates the non-rural public about the importance of agriculture in our everyday life. The Four States Fair also strives to provide fun family entertainment for the Four States Area.
History
The Four States Fair was founded in 1945, however, we have records dating back to the first rodeo being held in 1940
