The beautiful, historic city of Auburn has been hosting a rodeo for 88 years and the tradition continues this year with 2 action-packed performances. Fun for the whole family.
The Gold Country Pro Rodeo is co-produced by Cotton Rosser/FlyingU Rodeo Company and EzEvents, Inc. Cotton Rosser has been producing professional rodeos since 1959.
The rodeo is held at the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn, California, in the McCann Stadium. We kick off the Gold Country Pro Rodeo celebration at 6 pm on Wednesday night at Auburn Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram with a dummy roping contest, FREE food, and fun, followed by the Official Pre-Party on Friday night and the Official Rodeo Party on Saturday.
The rodeo runs two days – both Saturday and Sunday, rain or shine. You won’t want to miss the pro bull riding, bronc riding, and team roping, to name just a few of the highlights of the rodeo program. So bring your family and friends and have some fun!
- History
- Cotton Rosser is a name that has become synonymous with quality rodeo production. After a ranch accident in 1956 abruptly ended a promising career as a rodeo contestant, Cotton purchased the Flying U Rodeo Company. For the past several decades, Cotton and his family have worked to make the Flying U one of the most successful stock contracting firms in professional rodeo. Cotton has long been known for his outstanding rodeo productions, including the flamboyant opening ceremonies presented at the National Finals Rodeo, the Houston Livestock Show and the Grand National Rodeo in San Francisco just to name a few. Rodeo is show business as far as he is concerned. According to Cotton, “You have to run the show, you can’t let the show run you. If you don’t keep the audience entertained they will go somewhere else.”
