In memory of the late 1987 World Champion Bull Rider Lane Frost, the Lane Frost Challenge (LFC) was established in 2001 in his hometown of Vernal, UT.
By 2009 the LFC had grown to include Professional Bull Riding (PBR) and Championship Bull Riding (CBR) stops with a total of 10 events throughout Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, and South Dakota.
Featured on the Outdoor Channel and Altitude Sports the LFC was in high demand, but by 2013 the event had superseded the humble hometown event that fueled our passion. The decision was made to scale the event back down to the original Vernal, UT tour dates with a couple of community-based private events provided throughout the year.
On January 18-19, 2019, the top 50 LFC bull riders will compete for more than $33,000 in cash and prizes. Proceeds from the LFC continue to support the Lane Frost Memorial Scholarship Fund honoring young bull riders with a dream like Lane’s – to become the next World Champion Bull Rider.
On behalf of Elsie and Clyde Frost, we welcome you to Utah’s premier two-day bull riding event, the Lane Frost Challenge!
